I must sincerely apologize for my lengthy absence. It's been a whirlwind.
I was implanted with the Cochlear Freedom Implant with the N5 Processor - Cochlear Implant on February 29, 2012. Leap year, leap of faith in technology. How apropos.
At first I was disappointed - - Patience are not my forte... ::sigh::
Three months later - I am hearing more than I have in twenty years. Although I rely on bilateral stim, I'm loving hearing the bird calls and wind chimes.
Understanding speech still proves to be difficult but better than in a long time. Only gets better!
Would I do it again? ......... HELL YES. I plan to.
